Cubicle Crop-duster
.hectate 02/01/2010 - 18:50 EST

Crop-dusting refers to the act of releasing flatulence slowly while taking a walk. See the Urban Dictionary for more details. In Cubicle Crop-duster the player controls a cubicle dweller with severe and permanent gastro-intestinal issues. He has a steady buildup of flatulence that requires frequent release. Unfortunately he works in an office environment where loud farting is deemed unprofessional and inappropriate. Your goal is to guide him through the cubicle farm and relieve him without being discovered.

The game is played from a top-down view. The player has the ability to walk in the 4 cardinal directions (up, down, left, and right) via arrow-key controls. Movement is restricted by the cubicle aisles and office walls. Pressing the space bar releases the character's flatulence. The longer the bar is depressed, the greater the amount released.

On the side of the screen are three meters. For a greater humorous affect, they could take the form of gas pressure gauges (PSI?), but for space constraints, simple bar graphs would suffice.
The first meter is the character's professionalism gauge. This represents how professional the co-workers see the character. Should the player lose all their professionalism, they lose and the game ends.
The second meter is for pressure, or how much flatulence is currently in force. This meter builds with time, and drops when flatulence is released via the space bar. If the meter maxes out, the character loses control of his sphincter and the pressure is involuntarily released until the meter is empty again.
The third meter is for embarrassment. Each fart causes the embarrassment meter to rise in an amount equal to the pressure reduced, while the rest of the time it is dropping in an amount equal to the pressure meter's rise. Additionally, releasing flatulence within a certain proximity to co-workers in the office will cause a greater rise in the meter. If the embarrassment meter maxes out, the player loses professionalism and it is reset to empty.

The office bathroom is also available for the player to relieve the character of both embarrassment and pressure, but only when there are no co-workers inside. Additionally, if the player hangs out within proximity of the bathroom, they will start to accrue additional embarrassment.

Levels should be timed, and different office layouts - as well as co-worker density - are used to increase difficulty.
